Zona Reina, Guatemala: vocational training for women from indigenous communities
Zona Reina, located about 65 kilometers from Uspantán in the Quiché department of Guatemala, is home to 92 predominantly Q’eqchi’ communities. Here, the Lasallians run projects aimed at empowering women from indigenous communities.
The initiative includes training in advanced agroecological practices and fair economic activities. Key components are agroecological workshops that enhance food production and marketing skills, with women leading the training of others.

Promoting participation and empowerment
The project also supports the creation of solidarity markets to sell agricultural surplus. To further empower women, political and organizational training is provided to promote their participation in community advocacy and influence local policies. Additionally, the project offers socio-emotional education for youth aged 15 to 20, fostering a violence-free environment.
At La Salle Foundation, we work to create a world where education is accessible to all children. And you, which world do you choose?
